To use the SfEP forums you must be a member or an associate of the SfEP. Some former or retired members are granted access to the SfEP forums and its mailing lists, depending on the period they spent as members of the Society.
As a user of the SfEP forums and/or its mailing lists, you take full responsibility for your own posts. No flaming on editorial matters or technical matters will be tolerated. Avoid making statements that could cause serious harm to the reputation of any individual or organisation. Comments posted on SfEP forums are the opinions of those who do the posting and not necessarily those of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
Do not quote from private emails unless you have permission to do so.
All posts should contain your full name in your signature, to prevent confusion.
Always treat fellow members and associates of the SfEP with courtesy and respect, whether replying to them on SfEP forums or via a mailing list or when following up points raised on SfEP forums in private correspondence offline. Remember that the principles of our code of practice apply in all these circumstances.
Emails and digests sent via an SfEP forum mailing list are intended for the addressees only and may contain information that is privileged and confidential; their contents may not be divulged to people outside the Society without the express permission of the author. If you're not the intended recipient, you must not copy or distribute any email or digest sent via an SfEP forum mailing list.
If you take any action in reliance on any posting in an SfEP forum or on any SfEP email or digest, you do so at your own risk.
